Sarah Shahi Biography
Born on January 10, 1980 in Euless, Texas as Aahoo Jahansouz Shahi, Sarah Shahi is of Iranian and Spanish decent. After attending Trinity High School, Shahi continued her studies as the Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a major in Opera and English. As a teen, Sarah Sashi started joining beauty pageants, but it was in the 1997 Miss Forth Worth USA pageant that she received the beauty queen crown.
From 1999 to 2000, Sarah Shahi became a part of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and appeared on the team’s 2000 calendar. Her first acting jobs were both as a cheerleader – an extra on the 2000 romantic comedy film “Dr. T and the Women” and in an episode of the comedy-drama series, “City Guys.” On the set of “Dr. T and the Women,” Shahi met director Robert Altman, who encouraged her to settle in Hollywood and pursue an acting career. When she moved to Los Angeles, Sarah Shahi landed jobs several hit TV shows, including “Spin City,” “Boston Public,” “Off Centre,” “Maybe It’s Me,” and a recurring role in the action series “Alias.”

Sarah Shahi started her career as a beauty queen, winning Miss Fort Worth USA in 1997. Two years later, she earned a spot on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and appeared on the cover of the team’s 2000 calendar. She then landed a minor role on the movie, “Dr. T and the Women”. When Shahi moved to Los Angeles, she appeared in several TV shows, including City Guys, Spin City, Boston Public, Off Centre and Maybe It’s Me. However, when she was chosen to play a journalist named Jenny in the hit series Alias, she appeared in seven episodes and received plenty of attention.
Shahi then became the first ghost to appear in the paranormal series, Supernatural and appeared in more TV shows, including Wednesday 9:30, Frasier, Dawson’s Creek, ER, Reba and Century City. She also worked on several films, including “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde”, “Old School” and “A Lot Like Love”. From 2005 to 2007, Sarah Shahi became popular for her role as Carmen de la Pica Morales in the TV drama series, “The L Word”. Since then, Shahi made a cameo appearance in the action comedy film, “Rush Hour 3” and guest-starred in other TV series, including Sleeper Cell, The Sopranos and the NBC show, “Life”.
