Sarah Chalke Biography
Sarah Cassandra Chalke was born on August 27, 1976 in Ontario Canada, but grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sarah Chalke started a career in acting at age 8 through musical theater productions. The 12-year-old Sarah then landed a gig on the Canadian children’s show “KidZone” as an environmental reporter. Her acting debut was in the 1992 made-for-TV movie, “City Boy,” which was followed by the 1993 film “Relentless: Mind of a Killer.” However, it was in the hit TV sitcom “Roseanne” where Sarah Chalke got her big break. She graduated from Handsworth Secondary School in 1994 while working on the set of Roseanne and moved to San Fernando Valley. Sarah also appeared in the 1993 film “Woman on the Ledge,” the 1994 comedy flick, “Ernest Goes to School,” and the 1994 movie “Beyond Obsession.”
In 1996 and 1997, Sarah Chalke appeared in six films – “Robin Locksley,” “Dead Ahead,” “Stand Against Fear,” “A Child’s Wish,” “Dying to Belong” and “Daughters. When “Roxanne” ended in 1998, Sarah Chalke returned to Canada, where she starred in the CBC drama “Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy,” which earned her a Gemini nomination in 2000. After the show ended, Chalke continued to appear in TV shows such as “I’ve Been Waiting for You,” and “First Wave, while appearing in various films, including “Y2K,” “All Shook Up,” “Cinderella: Single Again,” “Spin Cycle,” “Kill Me Later” and “XCU: Extreme Close Up.”

About Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke began acting at age 8 when she appeared in a musical theater production. She then joined the Canadian children’s show, “KidZone” at 12 years old. Chalke appeared in made-for-TV movies the “City Boy” and “Relentless”, but it was only until she was cast as Becky Conner Healy on the sitcom, Roseanne in 1993 that she became a household name. A year later, she appeared in the comedy flick, “Earnest Goes to School”. When the Roseanne series ended, Chalke went back to Canada and starred in the CBC TV drama, “Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy” in 1998 to 1999. She also starred in other TV movies, such as “Stand Against Fear”, “Robin of Locksley” and “A Child’s Wish”.
Chalke also appeared in low-budget films, “Y2K”, “All Shook Up” and “Cinderella: Single Again”. Sarah Chalke landed her biggest role when she was cast Dr. Elliot Reid on the NBC hit sitcom, Scrubs. The success of Scrub paved the way to Chalke’s success and more gigs, including a production in a New York stage and feature films, “Cake” in 2005 and “Chaos Theory” in 2007. She also guest-starred in the hit TV show, “How I Met Your Mother” and appeared in a Hanes commercial campaign “No Ride Up Panties” in 2008.
