Neve Campbell Biography

Neve Adrianne Campbell was born on October 3, 1973 in Guelph, Ontario. Campbell grew up in a family that encouraged her passion for acting – Neve’s dad was a high school drama teacher, her maternal grandparents ran a Netherlands-based theater company and her paternal grandparents were performers as well. At age 9, Neve Campbell attended the National Ballet School, wherein she performed on productions like the “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Nutcracker.” At age 15, Neve decided to pursue acting and appeared in “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Pantages Theatre.

After actively performing in theater productions, Neve Campbell landed a starring role on the Canadian TV series for kids, “Catwalk” in 1992. When Catwalk ended in 1994, Neve was then cast in the drama series, “Party of Five,” which led to a wider fan base outside Canada. Campbell played Julia Salinger until the show ended on its sixth season in 2000. While working on Party of Five, Neve starred in several films, including the 1996 horror film “The Craft” and the “Scream” trilogy in 1996, 1997 and 2000.

Neve Campbell first acting role was in the Canadian youth TV series, “Catwalk” where she played Daisy from 1992 to 1994. When she was cast in the U.S. drama series, “Party of Five” as Julia Salinger in 1994, she reached Hollywood fame and continued to work on the set until 2000. In between seasons of her regular TV show, Campbell released her first film, the 1996 “The Craft” and the successful horror film trilogy, “Scream”.

In 1998 and 1999, Campbell worked on more adult roles in movies, such as “Wild Things” and “Three to Tango”. She was included in People magazine’s 1998 “50 Most Beautiful People”. After her ‘Scream’ movies, Neve Campbell appeared in several films, including the 2000 suspense flick, “Panic” and the 2003 movie, “The Company”, which she starred, co-wrote and produced. In 2004, Campbell appeared in “When Will I Be Loved” and although it received only minimal theatrical release, the movie received critical praise.

By the start of 2006, Campbell switched her career to the West End theater and made her debut in “Resurrection Blues”, followed by “Love Song”. Neve Campbell is also set to appear in the fourth installment of ‘Scream’ to be released in 2010.
