Madeline Zima Biography
Madeline Zima was born on September 16, 1985 in New Haven, Connecticut. Madeline has two younger sisters – Vanessa and Yvonne, who are both actresses. However, unlike her sisters, her career started at a very young age when the 23-month-old Madeline was chosen to appear in a Downy fabric softener TV commercial.
At only 7 years old, Madeline Zima has received a part in the 1992 film “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle,” which earned her a “Best Young Actress Under Ten in a Motion Picture” award from the Young Artist Awards. Since then, Zima has appeared in several films such as the comedy flick “Mr. Nanny,” the 1993 version of “The Last Supper,” and an episode in the hit courtroom drama, “Law & Order,” a role that led to another Young Artist Award for “Best Performance by a Youth Actress as a TV Guest Star.”

About Madeline Zima
At 23 months old, Madeline Zima has already started her career when she was chosen as the baby for a Downy fabric softener TV commercial. Her first big screen gig was in “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle”, which earned her a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress Under Ten in a Motion Picture in 1993. She then made a one-time appearance in the TV drama, Law & Order before she landed her most famous role as Grace Sheffield in the TV sitcom, “The Nanny” where she portrayed the role for six years. In between seasons of The Nanny, Zima appeared in films, such as “Til There way You”, “The Rose Sisters”, “Second Chances” and TV movies “The Secret Path” and “Lethal Vows”. She also guest-starred in TV shows, JAG, Touched by an Angel and Chicken Soup for the Soul. By 2001, Zima has received 13 nominations from the YoungStar Awards.
When “The Nanny” ended, Madeline Zima appeared in small roles in films like “The Sandy Bottom Orchestra”, “The Big Leaf Tobacco Company”, “Lucy”, “The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember”, “Looking for Sunday” and “30 Even Scarier Movie Moments”. She also made guest appearances in TV shows King of the Hill, The Nightmare Room, Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, The Osbournes, Strong Medicine and 3 lbs.
From 2007 to 2008, Zima portrayed a sexually precocious 16-year-old in the series, Californication. She then released several Californication webisodes to promote her book. Zima’s latest projects include “Dimples”, “Legacy”, “Goy”, “Trance”, “The Midnight Man”, “’Driving Lessons” and “My Own Love Song”.
