Jordana Brewster was born on April 26, 1980 in Panama. Daughter of former Sports Illustrated Brazilian model Maria João, Jordana Brewster grew up in several continents, as they moved to London when she was 2 months old, lived in Rio de Janeiro until she was 10 and finally settled in Manhattan. She graduated at the Professional Children’s School in New York.
Brewster’s career started in daytime soap operas. While still attending school, Jordana appeared on an episode of “All My Children.” Jordana then landed a recurring role as Nikki Munson on “As the World Turns,” where she worked from 1995 to 1998.
While attending Yale University in Connecticut, Jordana Brewster received her first movie role as Delilah Profitt in the 1998 horror sci-fi film “The Faculty.” While promoting the movie, she was featured in several Tommy Hilfiger ad campaigns and was featured on the video by Class of 99 in their remake of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (part 2).” As part of the promotions for “The Faculty,” Jordana and her co-stars worked on “Invasion of the Fright Films.” She then received a part on the NBC miniseries film “The 60’s,” which led to a role in the 2001 drama film, “The Invisible Circus.” However, it was in 2001 when she was cast in “The Fast and the Furious” as Mia Toretto did Jordana reach international fame and gained a wide fan base. After her successful film, Brewster took a four-year off from the entertainment industry to focus on studies and graduated in 2003.
In 2004, Jordana Brewster appeared in the action-comedy film “D.E.B.S.” where she played the criminal mastermind, Lucy Diamond. Jordana bagged the lead role in the coming-of-age 2005 indie film “Nearing Grace” where she played Grace Chance, followed by a role as Ali in the movie “Annapolis” in 2006. That same year, she played Chrissie in the horror film, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.”
Although Jordana Brewster and Martin Henderson worked on the pilot for a TV-version of the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” but the series didn’t push through. Meanwhile, Jordana continued working on various film and TV jobs, including her guest appearance in the hit series “Chuck” in 2008, where she portrayed Chuck's girlfriend at Stanford, Dr. Jill Roberts. In 2009, Jordana will appear on “Fast & Furious,” the fourth installment of The Fast and the Furious film series where Brewster will be reprising her role as Mia Toretto.
