Deanna Russo was born on October 17, 1979 in New Jersey. She attended Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey, where other celebrities like Meryl Streep and Pete Wolf studied in. Russo received formal acting lessons from big names like Marketa Kimbrell, Sanford Meisner and Jack Hannibal. Her career started in animated films, wherein she lent her voice for the English versions of “Kurenai no buta” in 1992 and “Mimi wo sumaseba” in 1995.
In 2000, Deanna Russo guest-starred on the episode “Lost Night” of the Nickelodeon series “Noah Knows Best.” The following year, Russo had a small role in the 2001 film “Virgins.” Deanna Russo starred in the Anne Demers play “Hidden Mandala” in 2002 and moved to Los Angeles afterwards.
In 2003, Deanna Russo appeared in the hit show “Charmed” and appeared on the movie “Moment of Clarity.” Other TV shows where Deanna Russo appeared on include “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “CSI:NY,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service.” From 2005 to 2007, Russo appeared in three films, including “The Food Chain: A Hollywood Scarytale” in 2005, the low-budget slasher flick “Rest Stop” in 2006 and “Believers” in 2007.
Aside from acting, Russo also participated in “The Underground,” an L.A.-based TV program aired on LA36. In 2006, Deanna also directed an award-winning comedy short film entitled, “Taste of Kream,” which was featured at the London Film Festival and New Orleans Film Festival. Deanna has also been the face of an AXE advertisement, an ad that was named one of the “Funniest Commercials” in 2007. She also appeared in other commercials for Disney, Ford and Special K cereal, among others. She has also graced the covers of several magazines, such as “Elegant Brides” and “Health.”
Deanna became a household name when she was cast as Dr. Logan Armstrong on the popular soap opera, “The Young and the Restless”. From June 11 to October 30 of 2007, Russo portrayed a doctor who took take of the injured Nicholas Newman after a serious plane crash in the woods. In 2008, Russo also appeared on the horror flick, “Ghost Voyage.” However, her biggest break came when she was cast as Sarah Graiman on the movie, “Knight Rider,” which was based on the 1980s TV series of the same name. After the film, Russo reprised her role as Sarah Graiman on the remake of the Knight Rider series, which premiered on September 24, 2008 on NBC.
