Dania Ramirez Quotes
I'm originally from the Dominican Republic, and to have the opportunity to play a Dominican character and speak my native language, it's an exhilarating experience.
Dania Ramirez
We really get along well, so we hang out more outside of set than anything. I got an opportunity to hang out with a few people who all got sent on [the Heroes summer] world tour. For my leg of the tour, I was hanging out with Zach [Quinto], James Kyson Lee and my little boy Noah [Gray-Cabey]. He's so cute.

I'm the middle. There are all girls in my family. I was like the boy, with sports.

Dania Ramirez Biography
Ramirez was born on November 8, 1979 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As a child, Dania knew she wanted to become an actress, so much so that she entertained her family by reenacting Spanish soap operas. While working in a convenience store in New York, she was discovered by a modeling scout, who helped the 15-year-old Dania appear in a soda commercial. While attending Montclair State University, she was one of the best volleyball players on the team. However, when she graduated in 1999, Ramirez moved to Los Angeles to pursue professional acting and attended the Actor’s Workshop in New York City under Flo Greenberg.
During the early years of Dania’s career, she had a successful run as a print and TV model. In 1997, when Ramirez met director Spike Lee, she was cast as an extra in the HBO film, “Subway Stories.” Soon after, she appeared in Jay-Z’s music video for the 1998 song “Streets is Watching.” By the start of 2000, her acting career started to pick up and she was cast in Spike Lee’s 2002 movie, “25th Hour,” and appeared on the seventh season of the UPN hit series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
