Courteney Cox Arquette, born on June 15, 1964 in Birmingham Alabama, is a former model, actress and film producer. Courteney pursued a modeling career in New York and was signed by the Ford modeling agency. To lose her southern accent, she enrolled in acting lessons.

In 1984, Courteney Cox became popular for a Bruce Springsteen video for the song, “Dancing in the Dark” and appeared in the TV series “As the World Turns.” A year later, Courteney became the first person to use the word “period” in a 1985 ad campaign for Tampax tampons and guest starred in TV shows like “Murder, She Wrote,” “The Love Boat,” and “Sylvan in Paradise.” After starring in the TV series “Misfits of Science” in 1985, she also graced the big screen in films like “Masters of the Universe” and “Cocoon: The Return.” From 1987 to 1989, Courteney Cox landed a recurring role in the TV series “Family Ties” as the girlfriend of Michael J. Fox’s character Alex Keaton.

In 1990, Courteney Cox had a supporting role in the movie “Mr. Destiny” alongside Jim Belushi. She later starred in the 1994 film “Ace Venture: Pet Detective” with Jim Carrey and guest-starred as Jerry’s girlfriend in the series “Seinfeld.”

By the end of 1994, Cox was chosen to play Monica Geller in the new NBC sitcom, “Friends,” which lasted up to 10 seasons. In between her work on “Friends,” Courtney Cox appeared in several films, including the “Scream” trilogy in 1996 (Scream), 1997 (Scream 2) and 2000 (Scream 3), “The Runner,” “The Shrink Is In,” and “3000 Miles to Graceland.” In June 12, 1999, Courteney Cox married Scream co-star David Arquette. By the start of 10th season of “Friends,” Courtney Cox along with her other female co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow became the highest paid TV actresses of all time with a paycheck of $1 million per episode.

On June 13, 2004, Courteney Cox and David Arquette welcomed a daughter Coco Riley. Although she focused on motherhood, Cox worked on small jobs like a role in the 2005 indie film “November,” “Zoom” and “The Longest Yard.” After starring in the FX Network TV drama “Dirt” as the cynical tabloid editor Lucy Spiller from 2007 to end of 2008, she then signed on for a three-episode guest appearance on “Scrubs” and began with a new starring role in the ABC show “Cougar Town.” Courtney Cox has also lent her voice to the animated film “Barnyard” and is scheduled to appear in the fourth installment of “Scream.”
