Angie Harmon Biography

Angela Michelle Harmon, who is of Greek and Cherokee Native American descent, was born on August 10, 1972 in Highland Park, Texas. With parents Larry Harmon and Daphne Demar who both modeled in the fashion industry, Angie Harmon was introduced to modeling at an early age. Her first job was in 1988 when she won a modeling contest at Seventeen magazine. While at Highland Park High School, Angie Harmon became a member of the Highland Belles. After winning the “Spectrum Model Search” contest, Harmon moved to New York to pursue a professional career in modeling.

In the early 1990s, Angie Harmon signed with IMG Models, became the “it girl” and worked as a runway model with big names such as Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, among others. During this time, Harmon also graced the covers of popular magazines such as Italian and French editions of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire and Glamour.

About Angie Harmon

Angie Harmon started her acting career in 1995 after she was discovered on a plane by David hasselhoff and was cast in Baywatch, Baywatch Nights and C-16: FBI. By 1998, she appeared in the film, “Lawn Dogs”, which only received limited release. That same year, Harmon was cast in the hit series, Law & Order, playing the role Abbie Carmichael until 2001. In between her work for Law & Order, Harmon also lent her voice in the animated film, “Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker’ as Barbara Gordon.

Harmon left Law & Order to concentrate on the big screen. From 2001 to 2003, Angie Harmon worked in several feature films, including the direct-to-video 2001 film, “Good Advice”, the 2002 movie “Video Voyeur: The Susan Wilson Story” and a major role in the “Agent Cody Banks” movie. In 2005, Harmon portrayed the role as Anna in the movie, “The Deal” and appeared the short-lived NBC TV series “Inconceivable” and in the movie “Fun with Dick and Jane” on the same year.

In 2006, Angie Harmon was cast in the direct-to-DVD suspense drama, “End Game” and worked on “Secrets of a Small Town” and “Glass House: The Good Mother”. The next year, Harmon starred in an ABC pilot “Women’s Murder Club” and was cast in the movie, “Seraphim Falls”. Her latest role was in the 2008 film, “Living Proof”.
